Moose Hunting at Klotz Lake Camp

Hunting the noble moose - the undisputed king of the northern forest, is a thrill of a lifetime. The largest of the deer family, these regal animals often weigh in excess of 1,000 lbs. You will hunt the numerous lakes and river systems around camp, as well as the thousands of miles of logging roads and trails. Because our camp has been family owned and operated for over 50 years, and we live here year-round, we know moose movements and patterns because we watch them all year long, not just during Moose season.

MOOSE HUNTING FOR CANADIAN RESIDENTS:

Klotz Lake Camp is physically situated in WMU 21B for moose hunting; Area 19 is directly across the highway from our camp, and Area 21A is a 20-minute drive.

We offer Canadian residents a warm, clean cabin – all have heat, electricity, and are fully equipped for light housekeeping.  Our modern cabins offer hot/cold running water, private washroom, microwaves, television and plenty of other amenities.  Our cabins will sleep from 2 to 12 people comfortably.

Klotz Lake Camp is open year-round so any time you want to hunt these noble creatures, we are here for you.  And because we’re here year-round, we know about the moose in our area and can give you directions on where/how to hunt for them.  Many of our guests utilize canoes on the many lakes and river systems around us.  There are also thousands of miles of logging roads with clear-cut areas to hunt.

Please refer to our pricing section for rates, and thanks again for considering Klotz Lake Camp for your next moose hunting adventure!

MOOSE HUNTING FOR NON RESIDENTS:

When you arrive at Klotz Lake Camp for your moose hunt, we sit down with you and go over area maps, and ride out with you to check out the most productive areas where moose have been frequenting.  Your moose hunt is non-guided; however, we do take you out and show you the “hot” spots.  Very few, if any, outfitters live here year-round, so our knowledge of the area and experience will greatly benefit you in your hunt.

A hunting license from your home state is required to get a moose license in Ontario.  Hunter orange clothing is also required – camouflage orange is not acceptable in Ontario.  If you have an ATV, or access to one, by all means bring it with you.  It will come in handy for getting further back on the trails and getting your moose out after your kill.  Remember, Ontario law requires registration and insurance from your home state, along with a helmet.
